My Story

Born in 1995 and raised in the vibrant city of Penang, Malaysia, I discovered my passion for media and film amidst the backdrop of my parents' bustling bakery. Growing up alongside my sister and brother, I learned the values of hard work, creativity, and perseverance from an early age.

In pursuit of my academic aspirations, I embarked on a new chapter by venturing to Melbourne, Australia to study Civil Engineering at RMIT University. However, as I delved deeper into my studies, I realized that engineering wasn't aligned with my true calling. It was during this time that I found solace and fulfillment in volunteering with the media team at Planetshakers Church. Immersed in the world of photography and subsequently transitioning to the Broadcast team, I experienced a profound connection with the realm of media and film.

It was a pivotal moment when I had the opportunity to be involved in a film production gig, operating the Jib on set. The excitement and creative energy that enveloped me were undeniable, and I knew then and there that I had discovered my true passion. This eye-opening experience occurred in 2019, shortly before the world was gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With my visa nearing expiration, I seized the opportunity to take a different path and further my dreams in the world of film. Enrolling at the SAE Institute in Melbourne, I immersed myself in the art and craft of filmmaking. Merely two months into my studies, fate intervened, and I landed a job at Planetshakers, where I was entrusted with producing and editing an educational TV program called "Believe TV" catered to teenagers.

Since then, my journey has been one of continuous growth and exploration. From creating captivating music videos to crafting compelling short films, my involvement in film production design, producing, editing, and various other aspects has expanded my skill set and fueled my artistic drive. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and the invaluable experiences I've gained.

As I continue to hone my craft, I remain committed to pushing boundaries, telling meaningful stories, and evoking emotions through the medium of film. With each project, I aspire to make a lasting impact and inspire others, just as I was inspired when I first set foot on a film set. With a heart filled with passion and a dedication to my craft, I am excited to see where this extraordinary journey takes me next.
